Rich and ruby-colored, Regnie offers aromas of raspberry, black currant and peach. On the palate the wine is smooth and flavorful with a balanced finish. Very charming when drunk young. The aging potential is 3-4 years.
Wine Advocate Regnie was particularly successful in 2003. Red cherries, strawberries, and sweet raspberries can be detected in the boisterous aromatics of the 2003 Regnie. Broad, rich, easy-to-love, and generous, it coats the palate with loads of red cherries. This sexy wine seduces with its richness, purity of fruit, seamlessness, and sultry medium-bodied personality. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Score: 89. —Pierre Rovani, June 2004.Wine Enthusiast This gorgeous Beaujolais will stand up to whatever your picnic serves up, from roast chicken or ham to cold meatloaf and all the accompanying salads. The bouncy black cherry fruit is gulpable, so you won't have to bring back any unfinished wine. Put it in the fridge the night before, pack your basket that morning and by the time you reach your destination it will be at perfect serving temp. Imported by W.J. Deutsch & Sons. Score: 88. —Joe Czerwinski, August 01, 2005.
