More than 25 years ago, Tomás Esteban, a far-sighted vine grower from Roa, chose some of the best plots of gravel, grit and lime in his village to plant his vines. Today, Tomás Esteban cultivates, with his two sons, Juan and Ricardo, 75 hectares of traditional vines, pruned in the traditional manner, and grafted on to the best old Ribera del Duero vines. The team of oenologists has worked with the Esteban family to get the best out of these austere, exceptional vines. We have examined the various soils and brought together their subtleties to finally bottle this valderiz wine, a faithful reflection of Roa and of the Ribera del Duero.
